It is just me, doing all of it

I went to the same weekly trivia night as a high schooler, years before I was old enough to host one.

I was not there to win. I was watching what made a round work and what made a room quietly give up. Hosts who over-explain. Questions that are clever for the person who wrote them and no fun at all for the table. And then, every so often, the thing where the whole bar leans in at the same moment.

I started hosting in 2024. Under Island Legend it's been private parties, company events, fundraisers and venue takeovers. One-off nights, built for whoever booked them. Separately, I have a standing gig on the mic for Grey Matter Games' weekly Tuesday night at Home Team BBQ on Sullivan's Island. That night is theirs, not Island Legend's. I'm the host they hired, nothing more. Island Legend has never run a weekly night.

I have also been on the Triviality Podcast twice now, most recently episode 479, which is a strange sort of credential for a trivia host but I will take it.

Either way I write the questions and I run the room. If you book Island Legend, the person who replies to your email is the person who turns up.
